Description Sunil U 2010-03-30 22:31:38 UTC
:)
When I installed ubuntu 10.04, I was very eager to try out telepathy.
When I created a new account and tried to login to gtalk, I got a cryptic error message 'Network Error'.

The actual problem was I was not entering full email address while creating account.

It would be great if the software itself determines rest of email address when i'm entering my id into specific service such as gmail / facebook.

Sunil for facebook you just have to enter the username, though full email is required for gtalk

Yes... I agree but I had to scratch my head a lot... one place i have to enter mail address and another place just the username. It's confusing at first.

Good thing is that we have an example down to the text input box. But still it is better to give proper error message at least :)

We can't guess the @ part of gtalk accounts so you need to enter the full address.
The "example" label is there to help you.
