Description Krzysztof Klimonda 2010-03-30 20:30:36 UTC
version: 2.29.92-0ubuntu1
problem:
gnome-screensaver doesn't seem to reset fade properly. The output from test-fade says it does:
$ src/test-fade

but I'm left with the black screen (only mouse cursor is visible) and I have to reset gamma blindly using xrandr --output LVDS-1 --gamma 1:1:1

gnome-screensaver is obsolete, and this particular bug has been fixed in
gnome-shell itself, with the fade out being done through a black window's
opacity changing until completely black, at which point the screen is turned
off (this means that the gamma isn't touched, so we don't have to reset it).
