In Ubuntu puchrojo reported:

If I transfer the music from the computer to the ipod, the png cover are not displayed on the ipod.
The jpg cover work fine.

May be posible to automate convert it with
$ convert cover.png cover.png
from the package ImageMagick.

Can rhythmbox deal with these png images at all? Ie when the song is in the main library, can it use png images as artwork for the songs?

Sorry for all. I check it and it is true. It can deal with png if they are displayed in rhytmbox. If not, it can work, but I have no idea why and whet.
