GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 614124
mailman@mail.gnome.org does not exists
Last modified: 2010-03-28 19:39:45 UTC
I'm trying to unsubscribe from the tracker mailing list - to no avail! http://mail.gnome.org/mailman/listinfo/tracker-list I don't have a password anymore and 'remind' doesn't work. Suggestions to contact mail manager also failed: Delivery to the following recipient failed permanently: mailman@mail.gnome.org Technical details of permanent failure: Google tried to deliver your message, but it was rejected by the recipient domain. We recommend contacting the other email provider for further information about the cause of this error. The error that the other server returned was: 554 554 5.7.1 <mailman@mail.gnome.org>: Recipient address rejected: Please use http://bugzilla.gnome.org/enter_bug.cgi?product=sysadmin&component=Mailman (state 14).
We (I) prefer Bugzilla, but standard Mailman doesn't allow you to say that. That is why when bouncing I added the error message pointing to Bugzilla.
The tracker-list admin suggested a mail to admin@gnome.org which doesn't exist. On the main gnome site I've found a reference to mailman@gnome.org - which also doesn't exists :( and your comment is also somewhat cryptic to me! I would be glad if you could point me to someone able to cancel my subscription!
The subject of this bug is that mailman@ does not exist. This is on purpose, you need to file bugs. Meaning: If you want something done, file a specific bug. That someone advises you incorrectly is not my problem. Now, you also talk about unsubsription problems. You've managed to file a bug about mailman@, so if there still is some problem, file one about that.
Wow, publishing a non-existing mail address, intentionally - really a stroke of genius!
Wow, your comment is a bit stupid. This as publishment is NOT intentional (I hide it whereever I can), moreover I already mentioned this in comment 1. Assume you didn't expect a nice reply after reading yours. I really do not see the point of your comment.
I wouldn't call it 'hiding' http://mail.gnome.org/mailman/listinfo If you are having trouble using the lists, please contact mailman@mail.gnome.org. And please don't take it personally!
