The color entries are not logical.

The types of connection should be more visible (wireless or ethernet) : White bold (red point)

The networks connect (pascalhome): White (blue point)

Other networks available: Gray (Yellow point)

Well actually the problem is that the colors should be got from the GTK theme rather than hardcoded. On my theme, I get a problem with the "Wired Networks" or "Wireless Network" labels which are invisible.

The problem seems to be the hardcoded color in applet.c:

#define TITLE_TEXT_R ((double) 0x5e / 255.0 )
#define TITLE_TEXT_G ((double) 0x5e / 255.0 )
#define TITLE_TEXT_B ((double) 0x5e / 255.0 )

[...]

cairo_set_source_rgb (cr, TITLE_TEXT_R, TITLE_TEXT_G, TITLE_TEXT_B);

It should raher pick a color from the theme, or just don't set a custom color.

bugzilla.gnome.org is being shut down in favor of a GitLab instance.
We are closing all old bug reports and feature requests in GNOME Bugzilla which have not seen updates for a long time.

If you still use NetworkManager and if you still see this bug / want this feature in a recent and supported version of NetworkManager, then please feel free to report it at https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/NetworkManager/NetworkManager/-/issues/

Thank you for creating this report and we are sorry it could not be implemented (workforce and time is unfortunately limited).
