Description Bastien Nocera 2010-03-22 15:01:37 UTC
NAP is the server counterpart of PANU, which we currently support.

The use cases for it are:
1)
- Laptop is connected to the internet via wi-fi or wired
- Phone wants to access Internet without using pricey data service (or can't access it when roaming)
2)
- Desktop/server is connected to the Internet
- Laptop has rubbish wireless driver, internet connection to update it is only a few clicks away

Implementation is a simple "Connect(nap)" on org.bluez.Network

The configuration UI would be responsible for creating the GConf-tree for enabling the connection, which would not be visible to in nm-applet (but in gnome-bluetooth or gnome-user-share instead, for example)

Sub-use-case of 1.

1.1) Phone is Android which doesn't support Ad-hoc.. Laptop is intel-based, which doesn't support master mode or wifi-direct.
