Description Brian Pepple 2010-03-14 20:37:37 UTC
Description of problem:
When I use empathy for the first time, it has a little wizard thing that asks
if you'd like to create an account. I wanted to use empathy for IRC (I'm using
a LiveCD so it's the only client pre-installed), but IRC is not a choice on the
first time user wizard. I had to quit the first time user wizard and add an IRC
account via the accounts dialog (where it did appear.)

It seems weird that you can create an IRC account in the normal dialog but the
first-time wizard won't let you. I've hit this bug multiple times this week
because my laptop has been in for repairs and I've been working off a live CD,
and IRC is the only account type I need to use with empathy. I do understand
that having such a dependency on IRC makes me an atypical user, though.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
empathy-2.28.1.1-3.fc12.i686

How reproducible:
Happens every time with a fresh empathy install.

This is by design, the assistant doesn't support IRC atm. But maybe we should reconsider that.
