Description Chris 2010-03-12 20:42:52 UTC
I'm on Ubuntu 9.10 64-bit, and have rhythmbox 0.12.5 installed from the repositories. I'm not sure if this is a bug with rhythmbox, a different part of GNOME, or another part of the desktop interface.

Sometimes when I run rhythmbox, my keyboard volume controls cause the program to freeze for about 30 seconds, and any window I have active will also freeze. The system doesn't even change the volume until everything is unfrozen. This makes rhythmbox extremely unusuable.

However, it seems like some days rhythmbox works perfectly fine. Other days it seems like it will always freeze on the volume controls, no matter how many times I restart it.

I believe it might be related to this bug - https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/rhythmbox/+bug/258935 . (The second comment said the bug was a duplicate of something else, but never said what.) In the third comment I post some debugging data related to my problem.
