Evolution don't start
Last modified: 2010-03-12 08:51:50 UTC
OS: Ubuntu karmic 9.10 amd64 Evolution: 2.28.1 Hello, I have just installed Ubuntu karmic 9.10 (new Hard Disk). All applications Runs well, except evolution ? At launch evolution seams to start... 1sec but nothing start ? Here after messages on terminal moi@Perso:~$ evolution (evolution:3823): camel-WARNING **: camel_exception_get_id called with NULL parameter. (evolution:3823): camel-WARNING **: Cannot load summary file: '/home/moi/.evolution/mail/local/Personnel.sbd/Gotronic.ev-summary': Aucun fichier ou dossier de ce type GLib-ERROR **: /build/buildd/glib2.0-2.22.3/glib/gmem.c:136: failed to allocate 31791052816 bytes aborting... Abandon moi@Perso:~$ Thank you for your help.
I have couple of questions : 1) Did you have any back up of evolution and trying to restore in new machine ? 2) If you have backup, are you trying to move from i586 (32 bit) system to x86_64 (64 bit) system ?
Previously I was running on ubuntu 8.04, with evolution 2.22.3.1. The new version ubuntu 9.10 64 bits was installed on a new hard disk, with ubuntu package 9.10 amd64 (evolution 2.28.1 included in package). Before installing new system I do a backup of evolution 2.22.3.1 (evolution-backup.tar.gz) , but I cannot use this backup because evolution don't start ! I have also tried this: - Uninstall evolution - restart system - reinstall evolution from menu applications "logithèque ubuntu" --> same problem, evolution don't start at launch! Other question: When this problem will be solved, do you think I could use my "backup 2.22.3.1" for the new version 2.28.1 ? Thank you.
