Description Angel Abad 2010-03-06 10:38:40 UTC
In Ubuntu Guillaume Desmottes reported:

- Rhythmbox was playing music and I paused it
- I started an Empathy call
- After a while I terminated the call
- Rhythmbox starts playing music

Rb should play at the end of the call only if it was before the call and at been paused because of it.

Thanks!

I don't know what's going on here, but rhythmbox doesn't know anything about calls in empathy. You might be able to make some sense out of it using rhythmbox debug output, dbus-monitor, and possibly pulseaudio debug too.
Comment 2 Bastien Nocera 2010-03-07 13:09:19 UTC
It's PulseAudio poking at the player. The current gnome-settings-daemon API doesn't allow for PulseAudio to check whether anything was playing in PulseAudio when the call is taken, so it doesn't know whether to restart it.

We'd need something more advanced than the gsd API to handle those cases.
