GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 611526
Page in inactive tab receives focus when page loads
Last modified: 2010-05-23 20:36:18 UTC
I posted this over on launchpad, but I thought maybe I should post here instead, since this is the bugtracker linked from the project site. Using: - Epiphany 2.29.91 - Ubuntu 9.10 - Linux 2.6.31-19-generic Steps to reproduce: 0. Browse to Google (or anywhere with a text-entry field) in the current tab 1. Open a new tab. 2. Browse to a page that takes a while to load, but sets the focus to some text field on the page when it loads. 3. Before the page is done loading, switch back to the original tab. 4. Start typing in Google's text field. Keep typing until the page in the other tab has loaded. Expected behavior: Google (or whatever page in the original tab) should keep focus, since it is the active tab. Resulting behavior: The new page, even though it is not in the active tab, gives the focus to the text field on that page. You can see that this is the case because whatever you thought you were typing in the Google text box appears in the new page's text box.
