When loading a damaged file, in my case a pdf file which is being created, evince says "the document is damaged". There is a cancel button, but i think a reload button should be more appropriate.

I’d was about to add the same request for the "document could not be opened, file not found" dialog. When you are generating your PDF files (e.g. using latex), this is a valid use case.

If you do not want to clutter the UI, you could at least make the reload menu entry (Ctrl-R) sensitive even when the file loading failed.

The proper solution is to detect when the document has finished being changed.  This has been discussed in:
