GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 611047
Fileroller can not extract files from archive with "Slavic/Central European Windows (CP1250)" letters
Last modified: 2010-05-15 14:14:30 UTC
Fileroller can not extract archive with "Slavic/Central European Windows (CP1250)" letters. To reproduce this bug, try to create archive with files with non standard letters names under MS Windows (for example by using 7-zip). After that run Ubuntu (file roller) and try to extract this archive. I attached the example of the archive (with empty files) which cause problems. More information is available at: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/file-roller/+bug/527375

I forgot to mention that I tested it under Ubuntu Karmic Koala (it is not working). I also tested under Red Hat - File-Roller 2.16.0 and it works perfectly.
it worked for me, using version 2.29.91 on Ubuntu Karmic
I could extract it. The only strange thing is that the name of the folder and files after extracting changed from: Rozwiązania testowe to: Rozwi¥zania testowe
I have following error during extract (under Ubuntu 9.10): caution: filename not matched: Rozwi\?zania testowe/Rozwi\?zania.txt.lnk caution: filename not matched: Rozwi\?zania testowe/Rozwi\?zania.txt caution: filename not matched: Rozwi\?zania testowe/
Created attachment 154784 [details] error during extraction on ext3 filesystem
the bug is in unzip, not file-roller
