Screen Shot of Google Calendar Properties

I have Ubuntu 9.10 64Bit

I have a Google Calendar set up and that works fine, the events show up etc.

However the Offline option does not work as I expect. I.E. If I am offline or cannot connect to the Internet because my Work Proxy blocks access then I have no visibility to the offline calendar events.

They don't seem to be copied to my local hard drive (I can save them via an .ics file, but that is not what I think this means)

Am I looking in the wrong place or is my expectation of what 'Copy calendar contents locally for offline operation' missplaced?

Thanks for you attention.
