However, all the account show inactive symbol after account name (red circle with a line through it) so that they cannot be deleted. using Ubuntu 9.10 - the Karmic Koala package "empathy" version 2.28.1.1-0ubuntu1 package "libempathy30" version 2.28.1.1-0ubuntu1 ProblemType: Bug Architecture: amd64 Date: Fri Jan 22 21:18:51 2010 DistroRelease: Ubuntu 9.10 ExecutablePath: /usr/bin/empathy InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 9.10 "Karmic Koala" - Release amd64 (20091027) Package: empathy 2.28.1.1-0ubuntu1 ProcEnviron: LANG=en_US.UTF-8 SHELL=/bin/bash ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 2.6.31-16.53-generic SourcePackage: empathy Uname: Linux 2.6.31-16-generic x86_64 XsessionErrors: (gnome-settings-daemon:1768): GLib-CRITICAL **: g_propagate_error: assertion `src != NULL' failed (gnome-settings-daemon:1768): GLib-CRITICAL **: g_propagate_error: assertion `src != NULL' failed (polkit-gnome-authentication-agent-1:1876): GLib-CRITICAL **: g_once_init_leave: assertion `initialization_value != 0' failed (nautilus:1858): Eel-CRITICAL **: eel_preferences_get_boolean: assertion `preferences_is_initialized ()' failed (firefox:1955): GLib-WARNING **: g_set_prgname() called multiple times
Could you retry with Empathy 2.29.x please? You can get it from the Telepathy PPA: https://edge.launchpad.net/~telepathy/+archive/ppa
Installed empathy 2.29.93 today. It has resolved one of the main issue I had reported. Now I am able to add or remove Google, MSN and Yahoo accounts. (Add/Remove buttons are not grayed anymore.) One interesting observation. All accounts were showing as Offline status after creating them, even though I had entered the login details correctly. I selected Google account, Then I unchecked "enabled" checkbox and checked it back again; then suddenly the status was green (Available). Same thing happened for MSN and Yahoo also. This "could be" an initialization issue, please check. However, I still do not see my contacts. View => Offline contacts also did not work. I will continue testing and let you know if I find something. Thanks. Uday

You don't see *any* contact in the contact list when your accounts are connected?
Now I do see the contacts from gmail and yahoo accounts. Did not have a chance to check MSN accounts. I guess the problem is resolved now. Please close the case for Bug 610763. Thanks, Uday
