GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 610554
hangs putting clip on timeline
Last modified: 2010-05-25 19:59:56 UTC
DVD with 3 .VOB files. 2nd file loads to clipboard but any attempt to put on timeline hangs. "Insert at end" causes inf loop, top says python 2% of cpu with appearances of ata/0, 1, 2, 3 at 0%, output to debug.log stops, the "project" window does not close, exposed window does not refresh. If I instead try to drag it the cpu locks and I have to force shutdown. Yet movie player can open and play this segment with no problem. The first segment (VTS_01_1.VOB) works fine though takes forever to finish loading audio track. Ubuntu 9.10 2.6.31-19-generic-pae.
Created attachment 154277 [details] debug log when attempt to insert at end of timeline
CORRECTION - unable to correct version, which is 0.13.3
CORRECTION after a VERY log time (at least 20 minutes) I see that the clip did load.
Hi there, in pitivi 0.13.3 there should be a 10 second timeout on loading a clip, also there have been some improvements in this area in git master, can you check using these PPAs (if you are on ubuntu): #gstreamer, add the ppa forling the instructions here: https://launchpad.net/~gstreamer-developers/+archive/ppa #command line to add rowinggolfers git ppa sudo add-apt-repository ppa:rowinggolfer/pitivi-unstable If you are not running ubuntu see (i want to compile from source): http://www.pitivi.org/?go=download
That's not the 10sec source list import timeout bug, but rather the "insert into timeline is dog slow" bug, bug #591427 I think. This would still affect pitivi git.
