GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 610457
in Vista 2.3.9 and 2.3.10 initialization does not complete
Last modified: 2018-06-29 22:35:16 UTC
when starting GNU cash the tip of the day popup comes up and several packages load but somewhere around reports it suddenly goes away. I looked at the logs in tmp and there was nothing in them just one line of text. I installed it on another machine runing XP and it worked fine. I reverted back to 2.3.8 and it's working again. I suspect it might have to do with PERL I think it stops at the point when the command window pops up.
2.3.9 is known to be broken on windows (crash on opening any report). 2.3.10 should work - can you remove the 2.3.9 installation and make sure you test 2.3.10 only?
still a problem in 2.3.10. It gets to the "standard-reports" and then goes away. I tried installing active PERL but that didn't help. I tried the depends checker and added internet explorer to my path but that didn't help.
The error with "standard-reports" is better described in bug#610561 Workaround: Copy all *.scm files from the share/gnucash/guile-modules/gnucash/report/standard-reports/ folder one folder upwards, into the share/gnucash/guile-modules/gnucash/report/ folder. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 610561 ***
