After installing version 2.3.9, when I try to access the system is a
error (attached) and the system closes.

The following details some tests I did to try, unsuccessfully, a wokaround to the problem.
I tried again to enter the Gnucash. It shows a window stating failing to obtain the lock and asking if I wanted to open anyway, create a new file or exit.
I selected the button to create a new file. The assistant asked for standard information to create a new file and ran normal.
That done, I selected the option to open another file and selected the file that was initially open and showing error. The Gnucash again presented to show the window stating it failed to achieve lock. Selected open anyway. The system opened apparently normal. Then I closed the file to see if what caused the problem (maybe some configuration problem data to the new version) had been resolved. At that time there was an error similar to that reported for the bug.
I repeated the steps of the previous paragraph. This time some reports that always keep open were not appeared (among them, the balance sheet and budget report). I forced an update to an existing transaction and recorded it. It worked without problem. Then I closed the application. This time normally closed without any error message.
I tried to open the file again and again presented the problem reported in bug.

In the file that causes the crashes, you have some reports open ?

Version 2.3.9 seems to crash on reports apparently, so that may be your problem as well.
Comment 4 Hortencio Peregrino 2010-02-16 16:20:53 UTC
Yes, I had some reports open. The problem is this.

I used the workaround above to access the file. I closed all the reports and was able to work normally. After that open a report, but when I tried to open another report the application crashed.
