This is an effect of http://git.gnome.org/browse/nautilus/commit/?id=e156e39e07276a4de8414bfdb82340f8762060b4 Maybe the (non-GUI) Alt+N part of that commit should be kept?
<alt>+NUM has been brought back in git master.
