Description ulrik sverdrup 2010-02-11 18:46:18 UTC
I'm using nautilus version 2.28.4-1 from debian.

I have some files where an application has set the metadata::custom-icon attribute (set to absolute uris pointing to valid png files).

It appears that nautilus does not preserve metadata when files are renamed:

1. Select a file with custom icon
2. Press F2 (Rename)
3. Type in new name and return

What happens:
The file loses its icon

Expected result:
The icon should stay.

In the same version of nautilus, icons are preserved when moving or copying files by drag and drop. It would appear nautilus is not useing the same codepath for rename as for move.
