indic text incorrectly displayed in gnome-terminal

gnome terminal does not render complex scripts properly. This puts gnome-terminal in a bad light compared to other gnome software, most of them handling complex texts well. Being a installed by default component it is less than desirable to not fix this. file names using complex scripts, outputs of localized application ... give a less than pleasant experience when using gnome-terminal. So currently I'm using terminal mode of emacs to get the required rendering support. I hope this will be fixed soon.
