GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 609345
Srt files saved as Unix text (LF)
Last modified: 2010-02-11 00:31:34 UTC
This is very inconvenient. Any Linux player clearly shows srt with CR+LF, but other platform often have problems with LF text files, saved with gnome-subtitles/Linux OS. E.g. my DVD player simply doesn't show subtitles. Hence it's reasonable to save text files in CR+LF. I don't think any Preferences/Options required.
The current development version does include an option for the default newline type to be used when saving files. I'd say the best is perhaps to set the default newline type to Windows, as there are players which have problems with unix newlines. Removing the feature seems like a more intrusive approach, at least on the short-term without having more feedback on this. Tell me what you think.

I thought it's not ready yet. > I'd say the best is perhaps to set the > default newline type to Windows, as there are players which have problems with > unix newlines. If you fix the preference to work.
