Description congruwer 2010-02-07 14:45:43 UTC
I upgraded today from 1.6.3 to 1.9.16. The new installer didn't invoke the 1.6.3 uninstaller.

Is there a problem with both versions installed?
Comment 2 Andreas J. Guelzow 2010-05-06 18:14:34 UTC
Assuming that there is no problem with having both versions installed, I don't see a bug here. There are sufficient use cases where you may want to have two versions of Gnumeric installed simultaneously.
Comment 3 congruwer 2010-06-11 14:23:03 UTC
For the average user, when you update software, you go from one version to the next. No one in the real world wants to keep multiple revisions of all the software they're using, and old versions should be uninstalled unless the user explicitly says otherwise. Having the user hunt for the uninstaller themselves is silly, and looks very unprofessional, especially in comparison to other software. Reopening because you didn't think this through.
