GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 609183
Make sure GnuCash can't be open without a data store
Last modified: 2018-06-29 22:34:39 UTC
See also the mailing list thread starting here: https://lists.gnucash.org/pipermail/gnucash-devel/2009-December/027012.html Bottom line of this discussion is that is would improve the user experience if GnuCash would only allow the user to do anything when a file/db (or "data store" in general) is selected. If GnuCash runs into a situation where no data store is available, it should pop up an Assistant that will allow the user to either open an existing db or create a new one. This Assistant should pop up in cases such as: * GnuCash is started with the nofile option with the --nofile option, or for the first time * The user closes the current data store
