Description Bastien Nocera 2010-02-05 14:01:38 UTC
Trying to play a DVD without a UDF filesystem will fail, as libdvdnav will try to get the device, and poke at the device directly instead of accessing the files.

If you copied those files onto the hard-disk, then Totem and GStreamer could play it without a problem.

This is a patch I made some time ago for the same problem in xine-lib:
http://article.gmane.org/gmane.comp.video.xine.devel/15050/

xine and gxine will work fine playing this DVD, whereas GStreamer won't.

This approach won't work in GStreamer - the patch would need to go into libdvdnav itself, since it's not bundled in GStreamer like it is in Xine

Right, could you please forward this patch to the libdvdnav authors, Bastien? Once it's fixed there everybody will be happy ;)
