GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 608868
The settings for Tracker are not linked to the search interface, please add a link
Last modified: 2010-12-05 19:41:02 UTC
The settings for Tracker are not linked to the search interface, please add a link. There are two more obvious places with space, for example: at the bottom of the 'Categories' pane or in-line with the search field (perhaps after the 'Find' button) I have also reported this downstream in Ubuntu on Launchpad: https://bugs.edge.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/tracker/+bug/516449
Please set the version you are actually talking about in the bug here. 0.6 and 0.7 are very different and we would need to know this.
Launchpad has the needed info. I have copied it below: ProblemType: Bug Architecture: i386 ... Date: Wed Feb 3 10:03:23 2010 DistroRelease: Ubuntu 9.10 NonfreeKernelModules: nvidia Package: tracker 0.6.95-1ubuntu3 ProcEnviron: LANG=en_DK.UTF-8 SHELL=/bin/bash ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 2.6.31-17.54-generic SourcePackage: tracker Uname: Linux 2.6.31-17-generic i686
Closing this bug report as no further information has been provided. Please feel free to reopen this bug if you can provide the information asked for. Thanks!
Erm, why is this closed? I gave exactly the information requested in under two hours...
Setting proper version info. Please note that the current codebase of tracker is 0.8/0.9, which is completely different to the 0.6.X shipped in ubuntu <= 10.04. In 0.8/0.9 series, the search interface (tracker-search-tool) is independent from the configuration interface (tracker-preferences). Anyway, don't actually understand the issue... could you elaborate more the problem? Or maybe even better, could you check if the issue is already solved in 0.8/0.9 series? Thanks.
Duncan, can you check, please? Thanks in advance :)
I'm now running Ubuntu 10.10 and can't see any great difference in the UI. There is still no link between the search interface and the setting interface. So my original bug is still valid in my view.
