GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 608671
[mkv] issues when seeking
Last modified: 2010-02-02 15:07:17 UTC
Happens with the pre-release Ubuntu Karmic pkgs from the PPA. Play an mkv file with multiple audio tracks and one text track in Totem. Seek around. Sometimes it goes fine but often the pipeline remains blocked in PAUSED, I can't resume playback.
I set as blocker because it happens with the pre-releases. Before I upgraded the pkgs it was working fine.
Can you point us to a test file with which you can reproduce this? Do you have a GST_DEBUG log from when it fails?

Right, I can reproduce that when jumping to position ~30secs in totem.
I couldn't reproduce this, what I get here is that video stalls and audio continues, after some time audio stops and video starts.
Ok, now I tried with the other audio track and it doesn't stall, it just sometimes take a long (10-15 secs?) time to resume playback and sometimes stalls.
FWIW, I have a fix for a matroskademux seeking problem in bug #606744. A similar thing may be happening here.
The patch works for me.
Then let's mark it as dupe of bug #606744 :) *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 606744 ***
