Open program. File, New, 640x480. Left click on Text typing tool "T", and then click anywhere on paint surface.
Program gives a runtime error for gimp-2.7.exe and a console message:
Pango:ERROR:pangowin32.c:838:pango_win32_font_finalize: assertion failed: <win32font->fontmap != null>. Clicking "OK" on the runtime error (or the "X") exits the application immediately.
