GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 60781
Generated menu entries with non-ascii are getting cut off
Last modified: 2004-12-22 21:47:04 UTC
Menu entries which are generated when starting galeon for the first time that contains non-ascii characters are getting cut off at first non-ascii. The image in the url shows one of the menus (Which is supposed to be called 'Minibokmärken' but gets cut off at the 'ä'). 'Automatic bookmarks' and 'Toolbar with smart bookmarks' are also getting cut off.
I can confirm this, I'm using iso-8859-2 chars and everything after iso-8859-2 specific char is cut off.
Setting LC_CTYPE fixes the problem. In my case, doing export LC_CTYPE='sv_FI' before calling galeon gives me working 'едц' in the bookmarks editor. For correct sorting I set LC_COLLATE.
Works for me now at least. Can't reproduce cutoff with LANG=sv_SE, LC_CTYPE= C or sv_SE
