Description Omer Akram 2010-01-22 17:43:08 UTC
originall reported at: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/empathy/+bug/473662

connect to yahoo account and go to Edit >> Personal Information and change alias name click close and its not changed at all. go back to Edit >> Personal Information and see the alias is automatically reverted. To verify that I logged in on another machine to see if the status changed but it did not. The same worked for hotmail account

I can confirm this bug on a new installation of Ubuntu 9.10 with latest updates. I am using an ICQ account and even though I can change the image, the alias always reverts back to the ICQ number.

exists in empathy 2.29.90 I guess its not empathy issue. Its telepathy haze? or libpurple?
Comment 3 Guillaume Desmottes 2010-02-22 13:23:36 UTC
Yeah you should report that as a tp-haze bug.
