Description Teej 2010-01-20 12:38:16 UTC
I originally reported this in Launchpad at https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/empathy/+bug/509866

To reproduce:

* Join an IRC channel (may be the same for MSN/Yahoo, etc)
* Type a long message (longer than the window)

The input box does not open vertically as you would expect, but resizes the entire chat window.

To clarify:

I expected the input box to wrap-around and either grow vertically, or have a scrollbar, yes.
The window should not resize because it is being typed into.
i.e. the input box grows horizontally to fit the typed text in, but in doing this forces the whole window itself to grow, which is wrong.
