I have a working (but using ctypes until the bindings are updated) port of the mirror effect cient-side-windows gtk-demo available;

Very minimal modifications of this demo will be needed once the bindings support the new API. Feel free to use this code in pygtk-demo

This problem has been fixed in the development version. The fix will be available in the next major software release. Thank you for your bug report.
