I deleted all the media from my ipod, in order to do a fresh load.  I told banshee (latest from the PPA) to "Disconnect" (button on the ipod page) and I got this error:

Could not disconnect Media Player: org.freedesktop.Hal.Device.Volume.UnknownFailure: Cannot open /media/.hal-mtab

I though teh ipod issues had been resolved, but I guess not.

So now what?

Please specify which version of Banshee you're using, in this bug and the other ones you filled.

If the "About" dialog says 1.5.3, select "git master".

This is the latest version from the banshee-team PPA (not the daily) on Ubuntu Karmic.

This looks a lot like Bug 605074.  I'm marking it as a duplicate, but feel free to reopen it if you think my diagnosis is wrong.
