Version: 2.29.5.1 What were you doing when the application crashed? I had just started X (via startx). The panel never mapped, although something generated an error popup which I couldn't read (it was blank). I noticed that there were 2 instances of clock-applet running, one left over from yestarday and one just started. I killed the one from yesterday, but nothing happened. When I killed the one from today, I triggered bug-buddy. After submitting the bug-buddy report, gnome-panel exits (as expected); however, normally, gnome-panel restarts automatically after being terminated (e.g., after killall gnome-panel). This does not happen. I restarted gnome-panel from a terminal window. I see the text in the error-popup and on the terminal: ** (gnome-panel:15275): WARNING **: panel-applet-frame.c:1273: failed to load applet OAFIID:GNOME_KeyboardApplet: (null) What's strange is that the keyboard applet does seem to be running, albeit, slightly differently than in the past. Now I see the keyboard type in the panel notification area, whereas before it used to be on the panel proper. (I seem to recall having both show in last version of gnome-panel, i.e., 2.29.5) The panel now runs, although the clock/calendar doesn't show (it is running though). Finally, bug-buddy hasn't identified the version correctly; I'm using 2.29.5.1.
I just upgraded to gnome-panel 2.29.6 (from .5) along with other 29.6 gnome components. After restartiing I still get an error popup (blank on initial startup, but similar to the one I reported before if I start from a terminal window). The initial gnome-panel appears to be hung. I attached a debugger to it and captured a huge backtrace which I will attach below.
Created attachment 152443 [details] Backtrace of 2.29.6 hang
