GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 606842
Evolution-mapi doesn't show norwegian letters in tasks
Last modified: 2010-06-08 09:41:09 UTC
I have a lot of tasks in Exchange, but when Evolution shows them, the norwegian letters is not shown correctly. Instead of æøå, it's replaced with the following "letters": µ, ° or Õ. In addition, I can't add a task that contains æ, ø or å in Evolution when it's a mapi-task. A normal task in evolution is just fine. This is the warning i get when i try to create a mapi-task with øæå in it: (evolution:3488): calendar-gui-WARNING **: e-cal-model.c:950: Could not create the object! This is Fedora 12: evolution-2.28.2-1.fc12.i686 evolution-mapi-0.28.2-1.fc12.i686
related to bug 598564
This is also a problem in Ubuntu 9.10 evolution 2.28.1 evolution-mapi 0.28.2 When creating calendar appointments with æ,ø, or å in them, a pop up states "unknown error".
Akhil: Only weakly related to that bug. That bug is about the characters not being displayed correctly, while this is about not being able to create tasks and appointments in the calendar.
Thanks for a bug report. This got fixed within bug #600389, but it requires evolution-mapi 0.30.1+. For writing such tasks you would need latest openchange svn trunk (I have revision 1889), as there were necessary some changes in that part as well. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 600389 ***
