Description Alexandre Prokoudine 2010-01-12 23:56:05 UTC
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Imposition pretty much covers the required functionality. There really is no easy to use free-as-in-speech GUI desktop application that would do imposition which is a fairly common task in desktop publishing.

Here is a couple of additional links:

It sounds like this could get very complicated quickly. Exactly what functionality (described in terms of things PDF Mod alread does, ideally) would you want to see? Do you have any ideas of how it should work, GUI/UX wise?

I've been told that the thickness of a set of folded pages can make it so the outer ones are offset from inner ones. How useful would it be to have that be a feature; input the weight of the paper you're going to use, and we offset each page appropriately so that when printed/folded they will all line up.

pdfmod is not under active development anymore and had its last code changes
in 2011. Its codebase has been archived:

Closing this report as WONTFIX as part of Bugzilla Housekeeping to reflect
reality. Please feel free to reopen this ticket (or rather transfer the project
to GNOME Gitlab, as GNOME Bugzilla is deprecated) if anyone takes the
responsibility for active development again.
