GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 606535
empathy does not display certificate error, interface for importing certificates missing
Last modified: 2013-07-02 21:48:17 UTC
originally reported at https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/empathy/+bug/480791 Try to connect empathy to a server via SSL/TLS which provides an untrusted certificate. Empathy will report "Network error" without further information. Empathy does not provide any way to import the certificate. The only option available in account settings is to ignore any certificate error (allowing man-in-the-middle attacks).
We are working a on a Telepathy interface for that.
So this is not an empathy bug?
Once the Telepathy interface is designed and implemented, Empathy will have to use it to implement UI so we should keep this bug open.
I was thinking if I should update the empathy version in this bug report?
What is the status of this? Has the mentioned interface been implemented?
Hey, that's actually been implemented a while ago (in 3.6? 3.4? not sure). Yay!
