I own the "Ultra 2010" 2 cd set. I can't rip either of them with sound-juicer. When I insert a cd into my drive I get this in /var/log/messages:

I don't know what is wrong with these cds, but I can rip them with cdda2ogg, cdda2mp3, and with "cdparanoia -B" (but not cdda2wav). Kscd can play this cd, as can vlc (and does show track names). audacious plays the cd but I get garbage sound output.

What happens is that I get an error dialog that says "cannot access cd: the specified location is not mounted" and no tracks are listed. This happens both with the sound-juicer that comes with Fedora 11 and with 2.28.1 that I built from source. I'm guessing this is really a problem with gstreamer (0.10.25-1.fc11) rather than sound-juicer but I'm filing it here first. Even if the problem is with gstreamer sound-juicer should handle it better, since vlc and cdda2ogg can access this cd.

I have encountered many instances of the 'Error: unmounted' warning, and believe that it is a problem with gnome auto-mounting in general, not s-j in particular. Can you please supply some more information?

Can the CDs be ripped directly with cdparanoia ?

Can other CDs be ripped with s-j ?

Does this error only appear for you with those CDs in particular? Every time?
Comment 3 Joseph Shraibman 2011-11-05 23:28:36 UTC
This problem appears with certain CDs in particular. I can rip with grip and other programs but not sound-juicer. See https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=533643

I'm affected by this bug in Ubuntu 11.10. See:

Comment 5 Martin Powell 2014-03-02 16:41:33 UTC
Yes, I get the same problem, it seems fine with CDs that are in Musicbrainz, but ones that are not, it does not seem to like them.

Also, there does not seem able to enter the file names by hand.

I am running Sound-Juicer 3.5.0 on 3.11.0-17-generic #31-Ubuntu 64 bit

This is a gvfs bug, marking as a duplicate (and I really need to finish these gvfs patches)
