Binary package hint: evolution

I know there is an older bug which is quite the same:
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/evolution/+bug/149728

but this one has been marked as invalid cause the feautre was about to be build.

Now Evolution has a config item to use system wide proxy settings.
Using our proxy from school's PC we're able to sync IMAP and SMTP.
With my Ubuntu machine, I can connect via FF if gnome has been setted up to use the right proxy,

strangely Evolution isn't able to sync, so I guess it can't connect to the server, and ignores the system (user-wide) proxy

Hi, 

I'm affected to. I use evolution 2.28.1 on ubuntu Karmic. And I think this bug also affect empathy(common bug ???)

It used to work fine on evolution in ubuntu Jaunty

Firefox and pidgin work, they use gnome proxy settings very well

I'm attaching the result of command : 
"sudo netstat -taupe > ~/netstat.txt" 

You can see that firefox is using the proxy "cache2.cnam.fr" on port 3128
Neither evolution or empathy use this proxy. No matter if you use "manual configuration" or "use system preference" in evolution, the result is the same.

How can I help resolving this bug ? should I post camel_debug ?

But I don't know if bug 578429 is really a duplicate of this bug as this affects evolution 2.28.x and bug 578429 affects 2.26.x

In ubuntu jaunty, with evolution 2.26.x, I was able to get mail under my work
proxy and it never failed
Now, with 2.28, I can't. So I guess the problem is related to 2.28.x and not
2.26.x

But maybe I'm completely wrong !! and maybe the problem is related to ubuntu

In each case, let me know if you need camel_debug=all
