Description Martin Mai 2010-01-06 21:28:15 UTC
Originally reported at https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nautilus/+bug/478516:
(The launchpad bug has been reported against nautilus, but I think it's more related to gnome-disk-utility)

When using the new option of formatting disks and drives via context-menu, everything is perfectly fine, but Nautilus opens up the mountpoint of the newly formatted drive twice (instead of not at all, once, or restoring the windows which has been closed while formatting)

Steps to reproduce:
- Connect a device to the computer, e.g. a USB key
- Right-click on the desktop icon that appears when the drive is connected and select "Format..."
- Select the file system type and name for the device
- Click the "Format" button
- The device is formatted and re-mounted

Expected behaviour:
- Nautilus opens a new file browser window in the root folder of the newly formatted device.

Actual behaviour:
- Nautilus opens two new windows instead of one.

As of gnome-disk-utility 3.4 everything was rewritten to use udisks2 and GDBus. In particular there is no longer any Nautilus integration.

Thanks for taking the time to report this bug.
However, you are using a version that is too old and not supported anymore. GNOME developers are no longer working on that version, so unfortunately there will not be any bug fixes for the version that you use.

By upgrading to a newer version of GNOME you could receive bug fixes and new functionality. You may need to upgrade your Linux distribution to obtain a newer version of GNOME.
Please feel free to reopen this bug if the problem still occurs with a newer version of GNOME.
