GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 606177
crash when dragging the side pane to the extreme left
Last modified: 2013-02-05 21:43:44 UTC
Created attachment 150878 [details] screenshot 1. Clean installed the 2.0 RC1 on windows for fun 2. dragged the side pane towards the left 3. crash (see screenshot)
Thanks for taking the time to report this bug. Without a stack trace from the crash it's very hard to determine what caused it. Can you get us a stack trace? Please see http://live.gnome.org/GettingTraces for more information on how to do so. Thanks in advance!
This is on Windows. I can't provide a stack trace (even if I was comfortable/had the knowledge to do so). But I can assure you the bug is damn easy to reproduce.
I get no stacktrace even with gdb. But the cuplrit are the (notebook-?)tabs of the sidebar (bottom). As soon as the first disappears, a runtime error is reported.
We IMO need either a minimum-width or a scrollbar. Without them the tabs are also not accessible if the sidrbar width gets too small. JFTR: This issue does not appear from within Msys/Mingw.
We've seen this issue on Linux as well, it has been on the mailinglist. I think it was related to the gtk version.
It still is related to the Gtk version. In my MSYS environment everything works fine. The problem just happens with the Gtk version installed by the Windows installer.
I can reproduce this on Windows 7 but it does not happen on Windows 2000 with the same GTK+ version installed.
