GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 605950
Does not play videos: ffmpeg :0:: Compressed SWF format not supported
Last modified: 2010-01-04 22:38:19 UTC
I get the search results with nice thumbnails, but none is playing. When I run totem like below I get: GST_DEBUG="*:2,ff*:3" totem 0:00:20.820560917 15911 0x82dfa48 ERROR ffmpeg :0:: Compressed SWF format not supported 0:00:20.820823776 15911 0x82dfa48 WARN ffmpeg gstffmpegdemux.c:1243:gst_ffmpegdemux_open:<ffdemux_swf0> error: Input/output error 0:00:20.820952831 15911 0x82dfa48 WARN ffmpeg gstffmpegdemux.c:1504:gst_ffmpegdemux_loop:<ffdemux_swf0> error: Internal data stream error. 0:00:20.820979368 15911 0x82dfa48 WARN ffmpeg gstffmpegdemux.c:1504:gst_ffmpegdemux_loop:<ffdemux_swf0> error: streaming stopped, reason error 0:00:21.365564304 15911 0x80bc5c0 ERROR totem bacon-video-widget-gst-0.10.c:357:bvw_error_msg: message = GStreamer encountered a general supporting library error. 0:00:21.365629111 15911 0x80bc5c0 ERROR totem bacon-video-widget-gst-0.10.c:359:bvw_error_msg: domain = 4340 (gst-library-error-quark) 0:00:21.365652296 15911 0x80bc5c0 ERROR totem bacon-video-widget-gst-0.10.c:360:bvw_error_msg: code = 1 0:00:21.365672409 15911 0x80bc5c0 ERROR totem bacon-video-widget-gst-0.10.c:361:bvw_error_msg: debug = gstffmpegdemux.c(1243): gst_ffmpegdemux_open (): /GstPlayBin2:play/GstURIDecodeBin:uridecodebin0/GstDecodeBin2:decodebin20/ffdemux_swf:ffdemux_swf0: Input/output error 0:00:21.365701181 15911 0x80bc5c0 ERROR totem bacon-video-widget-gst-0.10.c:362:bvw_error_msg: source = <ffdemux_swf0> 0:00:21.365858170 15911 0x80bc5c0 ERROR totem bacon-video-widget-gst-0.10.c:363:bvw_error_msg: uri = http://www.youtube.com/v/JlFl7g8RHZ4?f=videos&c=ytapi-GNOME-Totem-444fubtt-1&d=Aa_GPZt8t1WjXJl-QnyunkwO88HsQjpE1a8d1GxQnGDm&app=youtube_gdata ** Message: Error: GStreamer encountered a general supporting library error. gstffmpegdemux.c(1243): gst_ffmpegdemux_open (): /GstPlayBin2:play/GstURIDecodeBin:uridecodebin0/GstDecodeBin2:decodebin20/ffdemux_swf:ffdemux_swf0: Input/output error I run gstreamer git HEAD of all the modules.
This has more to do with the version of Totem you're using. The error means that it tried to play the SWF file instead of the video (FLV, or MPEG-4) file. Which version of Totem are you using?
Still NEEDINFO...
Totem Video-Player 2.28.1 on OpenSUSE 11.2 Today I've tried on Ubunto, which has a Totem Video-Player 2.28.2 and it seems to work.
Get SUSE to update their versions. It was fixed in 2.28.3, and the one in Ubuntu probably has a backport. Thanks for the bug report.
