Description Satish K.C. 2010-01-02 13:35:07 UTC
Nautilus allows a user to drag & drop files only into the directories shown in the left pane. If a user wants to drop the files into sub-directories, it requires multiple clicks & selects
   1) Click & select the files to move/copy
   2) Now right-click & choose "Copy"
   3) Click on top-level directory in left pane
   4) Again, double-click (by default) on sub-directory to open
....... repeat down the heirarchy ........
   5) Now right-click in required sub-directory
   6) Finally, move down the menu and choose paste (or goto keyboard & Ctrl-V)

As opposed to this, the windows method of sub-dirs opening up as you hover over with left-button down, allows user to quickly navigate down. Can we get Nautilus to adopt either this or some such behaviour that reduces the no of clicks?

It seems list view already implements this, don't know why icon view doesn't.
