Description rom 2009-12-29 13:51:53 UTC
In File > Import photos…, I choose my sd card, it generates thumbnails, I choose the destination folder, and press "Import", but nothing happens (the dialog box stays open).

rom,

1) Which distribution (Ubuntu, Fedora, ...) and version (Jaunty, Karmic, ...) are you using? Which gthumb version are you using? Is this a regression for you; did it work in older versions?

2) Can you take a look at Ubuntu bug https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gthumb/+bug/444300/ in particular this comment of mine: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gthumb/+bug/444300/comments/13 Do you have non-image (e.g. movie) files on the card you're trying to import from? Does manually deleting just those non-image files (or formatting the card and only taking new photos not movies) fix the problem for you?

If so, I'll annotate the launchpad bug to point at this gnome.org bug as an upstream bug watch.

Thanks.

The 2.8.x series is not being maintained, so this bug is being marked as obsolete.

The first 2.11.x release, which is a total rewrite of gThumb, will occur in a day or too.
