GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 605484
Account does not appear after switching from POP to IMAP until after restart
Last modified: 2012-04-11 16:24:33 UTC
Forwarding from a Fedora bug: https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=550573 In "Edit -> Preferences -> Mail Accounts", I changed my gmail account from POP to IMAP by changing "Server Type" and "Server" on the Receiving Email tab. After closing the account manager, the account did not appear in the list of accounts in the left-hand pane of the main Evolution window (as I would have expected). I *was* asked for the password to the new server, which I supplied. After restarting Evolution the account appears as expected, but there was no notification that a restart was necessary. Version: evolution-2.28.2-1.fc12.i686
This practice of switch account types on-the-fly should be forbidden entirely. We don't allow it for calendars and address books, it doesn't make sense to allow it for mail accounts.
