Gimp text tool should have possibility to enclose text not only in rectangular text layer, but also in freeform selelection area, or at least in some circular/eliptical area.

Hi!

Sorry for the many years without an answer.
Being able to do random reshaping of the text box is obviously a nice fancy idea.

See also the related (yet different) bug 125144, which is about applying various transformations on a text layer while still allowing edition.
