A side effect of the fix for bug 562617 is that the spell checker is no longer accessible.

I think we need a checkbox on the Preferences > Language tab to toggle the spell checker. Supported languages should be the same ones as listed in the languages listbox as long as there are dictionaries available. Spelling suggestions should be added back on the context menu for misspelt words.
