Description bellis73 2009-12-16 21:16:24 UTC
I setup my playlists during an earlier session. When I rebooted and re-opened rhythmbox a few days later, I saw the last few of my songs disappearing one by one. I keep them on an external hard drive. I opened computer and went to my external drive and the music directory to make sure the songs were still there. As soon as I opened that directory within Computer, the songs instantly reappeared in Rhythmbox and play fine again. It's like I had to go to the external drive and or the music directory before rhythmbox would wake up and see the files the playlists were pointing to. I have never had any problem with the external drive itself "sleeping" when other programs attempt to access it after a time.

The drive was not mounted until you accessed it yourself. Rhythmbox should be attempting to mount it, but apparently that's not working.
