"normal" black is black

v2.28.1 (Ubuntu 9.10 netbook remix)

the "black" colour now appears to be set to grey as a result of #356389

if I ssh to another machine and run "mutt", the background now becomes grey.

https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-terminal/+bug/377564

I've changed my colors back again now, so I've had to frig this screenshot but it gets the point across.

The first column should have a background colour of black.
