Description Richard Schwarting 2009-12-07 22:40:05 UTC
When I save files less than 400kB, a new window appears (some form of download manager) and steals focus and then disappears. I cannot seem to locate any way to permanently hide the download manager, or at least not have it appear and steal focus. Firefox, for example, pops one up, but it doesn't automatically disappear afterward, so once open, I can keep it in the background and it doesn't steal focus again.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. save 100kB image with a decent connection

Actual Results:
A downloads window momentarily appears and disappears, sometimes too quickly to register what the window was even for, and my keyboard and mental focus is stolen for a couple seconds.

Expected Results:
I'd be able to prevent the Downloads window from interrupting my work flow or make it at least persist so I'd have some idea what was going on.

The just committed bug #618443 (new downloads UI) makes this bug(s) obsolete.
